I've got some Eibach springs and intend to do this my self if it's reasonably easy.
Since mx5parts hasn't replied to you yet, I will chime in.
For the
fronts, just disconnect the swaybar endlink(s), and the ABS wire. Then, 3 upper nuts and 1 lower bolt to remove the shock itself.
For the
rears, again disconnect the swaybar endlink(s), some of the carpets need to be removed, and there is a small plate that hides the upper nuts which can be removed, or you can reach around it with the right tools. Then, 2 upper nuts and 1 lower bolt to remove the shock itself.
It's very easy. You can remove the spring from the shock without a spring compressor if you're careful.
