Brake kits for NC with Enkei RPF01 wheels

Looking to improve braking performance on my car.

Seems like a lot of the brake kits won,t fit with my 17 inch Enkei,s .

Open to suffestions.

Currently, braided brake lines and Project Mu pads.

The best bang for buck by a country mile is getting RX8 Sport brakes which increase rotor size front and rear and move to a vented rear rotor. I looked at my options and selected them (I've got a set here, I'm just waiting to finish off my current brake pads on the stock calipers/rotors before changing).

The RX8 Sport brakes can clear some 17" RPF1's depending on offset & size (Brian Goodwin confirmed on the US forums that 17x9 RPF1 45mm offset will clear RX8 Sport Brakes).

Here's a comparison I did between brake options in anouther thread:
- Stock NC brakes - F11.5”/R11"
- Flyin’ Miata Little big brake kit - F11.5”/R11.9” (~$1,900 AUD) - Front and Rear Calipers, rear rotors only
- RX8 Sport brakes - F12.7”/R11.9” (~$500 AUD inc. rebuild kits) - Front and Rear Calipers, Not including rotors
- RacingBrake - F12.7” (~$2,500 AUD Front only) - Front Caliper only, Front rotor only
- Wilwood Superlite 6R - F12.88” (~$2,500 AUD Front only) - Front Caliper only, Front rotor only
- Wilwood Superlite 6R GT - F14” (~$2,800 AUD Front only, requires 18” wheels) - Front Caliper only, Front rotor only

For the stock RX8 calipers here are the rebuild kit part numbers:
- Front caliper - B2YD-33-26Z
- Rear caliper - F1Y1-26-46Z

The weight difference in moving to the RX8 calipers is a 1.8kg increase in the front and 900grams in the rear but if you run lightweight rotors and weren't before you might make up some of that increased weight (one thing I noticed is the advertised weight reductions of other brake kits were based on the calipers AND rotors).

If you have the cash I think the Racing Brake option looks good since it will be a bit lighter but you still end up with the same size rotor if you want to stay with 17's (they have a bigger version but it needs 18" wheels).

hey Ron, you don't need bigger brakes. there are guys running a truckload more power than you and are still on stock brakes.

Save the money for a bigger pulley and tune

ill suggest some Hawk HP plus pads and a brake bleed

that will be more than enough!

Pulley has arrived, car at mechanics now. I am in Bundaberg till end of next week.

Hopefully will be sorted and tuned by time I get back.
