Secondly, my mum put some on her pajero, and I have to say hers are the noisiest tyres i've ever heard in my life. They screeched like a air raid siren for the first 5,000km. Now it's not quite as bad, it's audible and I still doubt their quality.

What has a 4wd tyre characteristics got to do with performance tyres? 4wd tyres are notoriously noisey and this has no impact on "quality"

They were supposed to be highway tyres, i.e. low noise tyres (GG bob-jane!). 4WD tyres are not all notoriously noisy, and for the record the Maxxis tyres were the only set to produce such a noise. Yokohama and Federal tyres were put on the car to prove it was the tyres and not a bearing or something else making the noise. The other sets were barely audible.

Doing further research has shown that they are prone to sidewall punctures, and manufactured at the same place as Coopers which are known to be riddled with flaws. Lucky for my mum that she doesn't do much off-roading.

I'm just saying be aware that their tyres have received mixed reviews, and the quality is questionable. If they're really rubbish, I wouldn't count on bob-jane for an amicable resolution either.
