Welcome to the obsession LMW.

Depending how much you want to spend, 15" rims are probably the way to go.

Good selection of tyres at resonable prices eg: Bridgestone Re001 $120 each.

There is usually a variety of secondhand rims & tyres for sale on the forum.

What area are you located? Join your Local MX5 club and you'll find plenty of advise
from fellow MX5's. (starting to sound like JBT)

15" will weigh less man

If you can fit 14" or 13" FTW

15" = more rubber choice and cheaper rubber...
every ounce counts

Is yours a 1.8? Ive got a 1.6 with a 4.1 diff and 16"wheels, and I reckon they are too big for the power/diff ratio Ive got. .
