Brake pedal freefall

Postby zoomzoom » Fri Jan 26, 2007 7:41 pm

I have just got my master cylinder and booster back on and bled the system and have notice there is a bit of freefall before the brakes take. I am pretty sure it was there before but have now only really noticed it.

It is not a squshy pedal to where it grabs like when there is still air in the lines, it just has no pedal then hits a great solid pedal. I was thinking could it be something to do with the adjustment on the rod fron the booster of the rod to the booster from the pedal?

When I fitted the master cylinder I had to tighten it down because the rod had already hit the piston before the nuts were wound right down.

the rod is on the piston because I had to tighten it down onto it. I was thinking about tightening the rod from the pedal to the booster and seeing what happens, I might try that when I get a chance and have some motivation :D It has been like that since I got it about 8 months ago so theres no hurry.
