NA coolant reservoir operation?

Hi,
Can someone clarify this for me;
The NA coolant reservoir is not pressurised. It uses the expansion and contraction of the coolant to move it back and forth from the radiator.
I notice that the alloy replacements (eg. Moroso and others) have the connection point towards the top of the reservoir. Fluid can be pushed in but how does it come back out (if the level is below the connector)? Unless there is a tube inside which goes downwards (like the original).
Plus there is no provision for any overflow like the original reservoir.
Find a flaw in my logic.

Pretty sure most have a siphon tube inside, so that the system can suck the coolant back out when it cools off.

Look inside the resevoir, you'll see a tube to the bottom of the resevoir.

Haven't got one yet. Just going by what I see in the pictures (can't see inside).
