I need to remove and rebuild my box. There are bearing kits for the 5 speed on Ebay but not the 6 speed. Anybody know where the best place to buy them from?

The 6 speed is made by Aisin, and was also used in he Nissan Silvia (among others)

There were some mild differences, mainly with the in and output shafts. Not sure if there were any internal differences beyond gear ratios.

But hey, it gives you a starting point to jump off from.

You can buy the parts from Amayama if you have the parts numbers. You can find them in the 6-speed transmission manual.

My 6-speed synchros grind slightly when I shift quickly on the track but slowing the shifts a bit helps. I was planning on pulling down my box and replacing the synchro rings at some point.

Surely there would be a number of sources perhaps including Mazda. Personally I would not buy anything in relation to bearings from E bay without actually knowing what you are buying. With any bearing you want quality, precision and longevity in the product. There are a number of bearing suppliers which would be a good start for information. Rightly or wrongly I have always taken the view that setting up diffs and rebuilding gearboxes is specialist work for people who are familiar with processes and know how to remove parts measure and refit. Money can be saved by removing the transmission whichin itself takes sometime and does not have to be a mechanics rate.
