2004 SE Engine into 2001 NB8B Swap.

Hi,

I'm currently halfway through this engine swap. The SE engine is in and I'm installing the SE loom, but I'm finding inconsistencies.

Has anyone done, or knows of someone who has done, this sort of swap before?

So far I've discovered that there are identical plugs on the body loom on either side of the engine bay which appear to be for the radiator fans. Or so I presume, through elimination by matching the other plugs on the loom to existing ports.

These plugs are different from the plug I have for the existing fans.

The 2001 NB8B fan fuse is 30A, the SE fuse is 40A.

I suspect the radiator fan setup is different. I'd like confirmation before I do any modification to the SE loom to make it suit my existing fan setup.

I've just been linked to a mazda-speed.com build thread where someone has done exactly what I'm doing.

Youd be better off buying a multimeter than taking peoples opinions from a forum TBH, for small nigly bits like this.

I heard the SE fans have a third wire, for a variation of the fan speed, is that the difference in the plugs? Could explain why the SE runs 40a.

I've just swapped out the fans on my SE and I can tell you they have four wires, if it helps I can take a picture of the wires and connector for you?
