Speedo sensor failing - how much to replace

Today the speedo on 04 SE decided to work intermittently. Have read various posts here about resoldering wires but prefer to get a new sensor so I can just take car and sensor to a mechanic to sort it.
What's the best source and pricing?

Me, if you need a red one. Otherwise boyracer.
It never occurred to me that you'd need a mechanic to swap one in.

I climb under cars as little as possible these days so it goes to a mechanic whenever several jobs have built up. This is one of those times (brake ducting, investigate oil leaks, steering clunks etc also to be done)
Would an 04 SE have a red one and if so how much is it?

Depends on your diff ratio. I believe that red is 22 tooth for 4.1, green is 23 tooth for 4.3. Don't know about taller diffs. The relevant question is "what colour is yours?"

The cogs are held on by a circlip. SE is a blue cog.
Just swap the cogs over to suit and your all good
Boyracer sorted me out recently with one. Had no cog on it so just put my one on and works perfect.
Access on the SE is a pain, especially if you've upgraded the exhaust. Get the mechanic to do it if its heading there anyway.

Dave, I will take your busted speed sender if you were gonna throw it as part payment for the debts you owe me

If this was intended to be payment against the passenger laps with you at Winton I'd have to point out I've not recovered yet.
