RecentlyI installed a new 3" home made SS exhaust using a Magnaflow cat, 14" Magnaflow muffler and resonator on my turbo NB. The set up is slightly more noisy than the old mild steel exhaust it replaced and I was hoping to quieten the setup for street use say with a baffle/ silencer in the tip which I can remove for track days. What have fellow MX-5s done to their systems to enjoy quiet steet driving but have a full flow 3" exhaust for track days? Car Chemistry a US company recommends permanently installing their CC Baffle after the cat to reduce noise and not effect performance Has anyone tried this style of baffle?

Either a tip baffle, or get a larger non-straight through rear muffler to replace the current one when on the street.

I'm a fan of the varex mufflers but if a silencer will fit that'd be a cheaper option.

I had my local exhaust shop add flanges just in front of the rear muffler.
Then made up a second exhaust with super restrictive (ie quiet) muffler.
This way can just swap between quiet & race mufflers with 5 mins work..

For my Familia GTR 3" exhaust I had one of these put on.
