NB8B MX5 throwing PS + AC belts

Postby Caffeine » Fri Apr 01, 2016 12:52 pm

Hi All,

Quick question on MX5 power steering mount bolts:

This bolt:

that is accessed through the PS pulley, appears to be a loose fit in my car. With the bolt tightened correctly, the PS pump can still move about a fair bit (with the other adjustment bolts loos), it's as though the bolt is too small in diameter.

The end result is that when the belt is tightened, the PS pump is actually tilted in slightly by the belt tension, with the added bonus that the belt gets chewed up and spat out at high RPM.
Is there a bush that sits in the channel in the PS pump, or is my bolt too small in diameter??
