Yep, have a trailer and a tow vehicle plus 1 x cake, baking the second cake now.
The Amarok has been replaced with another Amarok, however this time went for a more dedicated tow vehicle. No 4WD (the previous Amarok only went into 4WD about 4 times in the 3 years we had it), automatic (easy to use cruise control with an auto, plus it has 8 gears), tray back (no wheel arches to pack around) with a very large drawer underneath the tray as well as storage boxes at the rear wheels. The ZX6R fits in the tray (on the diagonal) and it is just over 2,000mm long.

This thread has been the epiphany for my next journey... how to have your cake and eat it (have 2 cakes).
Yes, this thread has made me have a good think too.
I started with the idea of building an atmo engine for my road car, but I've come round to the conclusion that I'd be spending a lot of money to go not that fast in a car that would always be an on track compromise. I've looked at a couple of turbo MX5s for sale, both road going and dedicated track cars. And while I can see both of those be possibilities in the future I think I need to clear some of the toys I currently have to make room for some new ones, so I've passed on both for the moment.
So current plan is
- Put rocket up fabricator to finish roll cage in dedicated track turbo project and work on that. OK, I confess its a Nissan, but that's where I started.
- Sell go karts and kart trailer to make space in garage (and money in bank account)
- Do sprints in stockish NB until daughter claims it. I'll figure something else out after that if track car isn't ready (which it probably wont be). Maybe another NB or SE road car.
I have a tow car and car trailer, so all good there, although the trailer is living with a friend of my fabricator and I haven't seen it for a couple of years.
So thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread and made have a rethink.
BTW, Does anyone want to buy some go karts?
