The only way to prove an improvement is to have a baseline and then measure the precent change.
I swear on my children's graves that when I installed the mania cold air into my stock NA6 it was a MASSIVE improvement, however it does not give an real gains.

Given that a NB8B fitted with a Mania CAI recorded 79.3kW and a standard NB8B recorded 78.4kW, that’s a massive increase of just 0.9kW.Now where near the 3 – 8 kW the magazine is claiming.
Backing this up from Dyno day were NB8Bs with fully modded exhaust systems, plus CAI only gaining 4 - 5kW over the standard motor.
So if you are thinking of a cold air intake to gain a 5 – 8% increase in power I’d think again. The best part of the CAI is the slight improvement in throttle response and the better aural noises.
