If anybody has been to Wakefield in the last few weeks, you would probably have noticed a couple of new challenges around the track.

The turn 2 and the turn 8 (? the fast one after the fish hook) ripple strips have both been raised. No longer can we cut the turn 8 apex onto the gravel (unless you want to hurt your suspension).

I was there that day and the driver had actually lost it coming into the corner steered into the slide and hit the front edge of the ripple strip at just the right angle to tip it over. Unfortunately this can happen on any ripple strip if you get everything the right (or wrong) way  . Those particular ones are very high and do unsettle the car if you get a bit hungry in the corner  . I'm not sure i'd want to be in an open wheeler round there anymore....
