Tip for firewall NB

Hi members today I managed get through firewall driverside on my NB. I went through the large rubber grommet. I went from the inside of the car heating up a large Phillips head screw driver with a cigarette lighter. Poked it through and moved it around a bit. Be carful not to touch your wires. Then I pushed some of my vacuum line on a piece of coat hanger I cut and straightened. And poked it through then pulled from engine bay side.
What a nightmare bugger all room to move under the steering coloum and even in the engine bay.
